The mission of our school is to ensure that each student
is offered a quality education in a safe, caring and orderly
environment. We will maximize each student's growth and development
through the collaborative efforts of the school, the home,
the community, and our business partners, with the ultimate
goal of our students becoming productive citizens and future
opinioned-leaders. We will accomplish this mission by creating
an atmosphere that expects, communicates, and fosters the
value of learning and the personal worth of all students,
faculty and staff members, and citizens of the community.
Bethune Elementary is a school-wide Title I and Project GRAD
(Graduation Really Achieves Dreams) school. Over 98% of our
students receive free or reduced lunch. Many initiatives are
in place and evolving to meet the needs of the school community
as it engages in school reform to increase students' attendance,
improve students' performance in language arts, reading, writing
and mathematics.
Bethune Elementary School is "a child centered school".
Over seventy five percent of the faculty hold advanced degrees.
More importantly, the faculty demonstrates an intrinsic motivation
to work with students who are considered "at-risk".
With business partners such as the Coca-Cola Company, the
Georgia Power Company, and various organizations in the school
community, along with parents who support our school, we bring
fruition to our motto, "a child centered school".
