Philosophy:
Brown Middle School Media Center
will play an important role in conveying information through various
channels and provide opportunities for student/teacher/media specialist
interaction and communication. The walls of the media center become
a place where thinkers, collaborators, and creators use tools and
resources to help them identify, organize, synthesize and evaluate
resources both print and online. All participants become active elements
in integrating resources into the teaching/learning environment.
Mission Statement:
Our mission includes collaborating with teachers and staff, integrating
literature to promote lifelong independent learners, incorporating
information skills into the curriculum and supporting fiscally and
programmatically the educational community as a whole. Furthermore

Georgia Performance Standards, and the J.E. Brown Middle School Improvement
