JOHN WESLEY DOBBS
We have all the tools in place to have a successful year, including a dynamic staff and a committed learning community of students, parents and partners. We had an absolutely awesome year in 2007-2008 and we have the data and the victories to validate our success; below are a few highlights of our accomplishments last year:
  • Met Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP)
  • Met 80% of our school system's targets with improved performance on the CRCT in most academic areas.
  • Increased the level of technology at the school.
    • added 9 new Promethean Boards to 4th, 5th and Kindergarten classes this year
    • created two fulltime computer labs that students visit each week, added an additional 200 computers in the classrooms over the summer.
  • 60 out of 62 Kindergarten students meet all GKAP, DIBELS Benchmark and SFA goals for the school year.
  • Our students, through the School-wide Accelerated Reader, read 9,000 books and took over 8,000 Accelerated Reader Quizzes.
