M. Agnes Jones Elementary has been
a part of this thriving community for many years and proves to be an
integral part of the West End of Atlanta, GA. Mrs. Woolfolk is no
stranger to this community and comes to M. Agnes Jones as our new leader
in 2008. Her professional experience includes extensive work in the
Atlanta Public Schools system as a Model Teacher Leader/Education
Specialist, Instructional Specialist and classroom teacher. She has also
served as an MRESA/APS reading endorsement instructor, a Content Seminar
Leader for the new teacher project and a consultant for a major text
book company.
Mrs. Woolfolk comes to Jones
with an extensive education and personal enrichment, carrying a B.A. in
Economics from Spelman College and having certification and personal
endorsements from such fine institutes as Harvard University, Georgia
State University and Brenau University. She is currently working on her
Ph.D in Language and Literacy at Georgia State University.
As a leader, Mrs. Woolfolk has
high expectations for students, teachers and herself. She reflects this
leadership role by prescribing to Thomas Crane’s, “The Heart of
Coaching” description of a leader as a coach, facilitator, servant, role
model and visionary!
Student success is her number
one focus and her personal goal is to ensure that every child’s academic
and emotional needs are met. Her philosophy is to treat every student as
though they were her own.
In her own words:
“I gave
birth to 3 boys but now I have approximately 500 boys and girls and feel
personally responsible for each of them!”
