Principal’s Message

Welcome to Isaac Newton Ragsdale Elementary School. This year brings many changes to our school. We are located at a temporary site while a new building is being constructed. However, our mission remains the same. We are committed to maintaining a positive learning environment, providing outstanding staff and engaging the entire learning community to ensure success in the educational process, so that each child reads at or above grade level and becomes an exemplary problem-solver as he reaches the highest potential possible.

Our objectives are:
• To create an atmosphere, which is conducive to learning by utilizing the total resources of the school to challenge, encourage, and develop scholarship and respect for oneself and for others.
• To fully involve families and community in the total education of each child.
• To address diversity and the individual needs of all students to ensure their success.
• To promote global exploration, communication and information access through distance learning, internet searches and other technological opportunities.
• To provide exemplary staff decisions through shared decision-making with an emphasis on academic and extra-curricula programs to help each student achieve to his fullest potential.

At Ragsdale, we believe every child should have access to a quality education and that the entire learning community should be involved. As we use our student performance data to drive our instruction, we will continue to utilize our partners in listening to students read, and serving as on-site mentors.

We believe in providing a safe and disciplined environment for our students and ensuring that allocations of resources for the best materials and equipment are in place. Custodians, teachers, support staff and parents are continuously assessing the environment and making adjustments where necessary to ensure the safety of all students.

Through shared decision-making, our teachers and staff focus on student success and attempting to help each student achieve to the fullest potential. As we create an atmosphere conducive to learning, we challenge and encourage others to assist us in helping our students develop respect for themselves and others.

Volunteerism has it’s rewards and we ask each of you to join with us as we focus on student success.
