Dr. Sharon Davis Williams, SRT 1 Executive Director, brings a wealth of experience and talent to the Atlanta Public Schools and is well prepared for her current assignment.   During almost three (3) decades of work in public education in Arkansas and Indiana, she has served in a number of professional roles.  Her preparation in speech/language development, special education, and educational counseling has provided invaluable insight into a myriad of educational challenges.  She uses her insights to assiduously lessen the deterrents to educational success that plague many students.  Dr. Sharon Davis Williams continues to use those insights to stay grounded as she works with her colleagues and partners in education. 

Having earned her undergraduate and advanced degrees from the University of Arkansas at Little Rock, she completed the Master of Science degree in Educational Counseling from the University of Central Arkansas.  Her preparation in educational leadership in both formal and parallel educational settings helps present her as eminently qualified to work effectively with all school personnel engaged in the process of making schools work successfully for more students. 

Dr. Sharon Davis Williams is active with several educational policy organizations, and she finds time to serve in a few other select organizations.  Dr. Sharon Davis Williams is a dedicated and exceptional educator, who is committed to making schools work for all students. 


 

School Reform Team One (SRT-1) is one of five administrative areas of the Atlanta Public School. This Reform Team, under the direction of Dr. Sharon Davis Williams, provides administrative support to twenty-three elementary and middle schools. Schools in SRT-1 are in the Southwest quadrant of the City of Atlanta. Under the leadership of Dr. Davis Williams, a small office staff and a group of Model Teacher Leaders and Learning Technology Specialist, give direct services to individual teachers as well as entire faculties. The Model Teacher Leaders are highly qualified teachers specializing in the fields of Language Arts, Mathematics and Science. They are also prepared to either provide assistance in other subject fields or call upon other persons trained in various disciplines.

The SRT-1 office is located on the lower level of John Fitzgerald Kennedy Middle School, SRT 1 has meeting facilities for groups and is often used for after school and weekend training sessions. The SRT-1 office is located in the Vine City community, near the Atlanta University Center and the Georgia Dome, just west of downtown Atlanta.
