What is a planetarium?

•  A planetarium is a multimedia theater that extends learning experiences beyond the classroom to the wonders underneath the dome of a starry night sky.

Why is a planetarium important?

•  A planetarium presents the best visual perspective of a truly dark night sky that many of our students cannot observe in Atlanta.

Where is the planetarium located?

•  On the campus of North Atlanta High School. All schools are within a 45-minute travel radius of the planetarium.

Do the Atlanta Public Schools have to pay to visit the planetarium?

•  No, the only expense is for the buses that you must schedule via the transportation office.

Is the planetarium curriculum aligned with any Georgia Performance Standards?

•  Planetarium shows can be correlated to many science and social studies standards.

How do I schedule my classes?
