Parent Involvement
Booker T. Washington High School has its primary goal, the
provision of the best possible educational opportunities for all of its students.
We believe that this can best be accomplished if there is a shared responsibility
between the home and school. We welcome the involvement of all of our parents
in every aspect of the school operation.
Parents are invited and encouraged to become involved in the
planning, reviewing and improvement of the parental involvement programs as
well as the development of the total school program for Washington High School.
We are committed to providing parents with timely information
about school programs and allowing time for school staff to respond to parents'
recommendations. Program information is provided to parents by way of printed
notices, a calendar of events, telephone calls, brochures, newsletters, flyers,
news releases, and meetings.
The school disseminates assessment data to parents in the following
ways:
-
PTSA Meetings
-
Grade-level Meetings
-
Parent Center Handouts
-
Individual parent-teacher conferences
-
Small group meetings
-
Parent Forums
-
Results sent home by students and/or via U.S. Mail

objectives. Alternative meetings for parents unable to attend regularly scheduled
