The Public School System has operated
and functioned for more than one-hundred and twenty five years.
Of these years, West Manor Civic Community felt a need for a
community school. Thus, the inception of West Manor School in
1954 in picturesque Southwest Atlanta. The original building
had an addition in 1993 and is scheduled to be renovated within
the next two years.
West Manor currently has an enrollment of 275 students. Two
classes per grade level at first, second, fourth, and fifth,
and three classes at grade 3 and kindergarten. Average pupil/teacher
ratio is 20:1. The staff is a combination of new and veteran
teachers. Their dedication and committment to children are evident
in their interaction with students, and parents. West Manor's
faculty and staff received a 3% salary incentive and the state's
Pay for Performance for achieving their goals during the 97-98
school year. West Manor also serves as the home of precinct
10L, one of the most active voting precincts in Atlanta.
