Welcome
to Whitefoord Elementary School’s website. I am pleased
to be the principal of a school with such a rich history of academic
performance, parental participation, and community involvement.
The staff is committed to providing a quality education to all
students in a safe, nurturing environment. We are proud to say
that we made Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) in Reading, Language
Arts, and Mathematics.
Whitefoord
is implementing a Comprehensive School Reform – Modern Red
Schoolhouse (MRSH). MRSH is a standards-driven curriculum based
on Georgia’s Quality Core Curriculum. Teachers are involved
in hours of staff development to learn the most effective strategies
to work with students. Parent and community involvement is also
encouraged to support teachers and students in reaching high academic
standards.
Consistency
Management and Cooperative Discipline (CMCD) is also being implemented.
CMCD has had a tremendous effect on our school’s overall
discipline and management. Our students are well trained, take
on management roles and exhibit a high level of responsibity.
These are only a few of the exciting programs that we have a Whitefoord.
We
encourage parents to volunteer at the school. You can help teachers
with many activities. Stop by or call the school and let us know
when you are available to volunteer. One of our goals is to increase
the number of parent volunteer hours.
