We're on the Move

Vision Statement

We envision a positive, safe and nurturing student-focused environment and curriculum where supportive staff, parents, students, and the community are invested in academic excellence, that foster critical thinkers who are challenged to become contributing citizens, international leaders and catalysts for positive societal change.

School Goal

To enhance our teaching and learning practices in order to promote decision-making, problem solving, and critical thinking skills in the students we serve.

We are focused on improving student performance in reading, writing, mathematics, social sciences and life in general. Our programs include Differentiated Instruction, SFA Reading Periods, Planned Lessons, Better use of Technology, and Community and Parental Involvement. We utilize positive motivation and rewards to inspire our students to learn and grow, and we provide extracurricular activities to expand the minds of our youths.

Woodson is special because…
the staff believes it is imperative that the decisions relative to the content of the curriculum and school atmosphere should reflect learning styles of the students and varying forms of differentiated instruction. The staff also believes that there must be ongoing cooperation among the home, school, and community.
